Recording Your Screen
Often the best way to describe an issue that you are having is to be able to demonstrate what you are seeing. Both Android and Apple phones & tablets all have the ability to record our devices screen, and share a video with other people.
Video
On Android 11, 12, and newer there is a built in utility to create videos of what you are seeing on the screen. To access this tool swipe down on your home screen to reveal the Quick Settings menu. In the actions listed at the top, you will see the ‘Screen Record’ button. Tap this to display a dialog where you will define what method to use to record your voice. Machine sure that ‘Microphone’ is selected, Record Audio is enabled, and ‘Show touches on screen’ is also enabled. Once you have these set, press Start to begin.
Record what you would like to demonstrate, and verbally describe as much as you can.
Once you are finished recording the video you can swipe down from the top of the screen, where a red ‘Stop recording’ button is easy seen. Once you press stop, the video will be saved to your device. Once you see the confirmation message saying that the file has been saved, open up your native ‘Files’ app and select ‘Videos’. Long-press the video that you wish to send to us and use the ‘Share’ tool. Inside the share tool select ‘Drive’. Your video will be uploaded to your Gmail account.
Open the Drive application on your phone. Open the left side menu using the ‘hamburger’ icon in the upper left. Select ‘Recent’, and you will b presented with a list view of all the files on your account, with the recently exported video at the top of the list. Press the ‘3 dots’ icon for the video and select ‘Copy Link’/ you will now have the URL of your file, ready to share, in your system clipboard. You can now paste that URL into an email or a support ticket.
** If you are on al older version of Android there are apps that you can use like these to perform the record function.
On iOS 14 or later there is a built in utility to create videos of what you are seeing on the screen. To access this tool swipe down on your home screen in the upper right corner to reveal the Quick Settings menu. In the actions listed at the top, you will see the ‘Screen Record’ button. Long-tap this to display a dialog where you will select whether to record your voice, and for where you want the files to be saved. Use ‘Photos’. Once you have these set, press Start to begin.

Once you see the confirmation message saying that the file has been saved, open up Photos. Long-press the video that you wish to send to us and use the ‘Share’ tool. Inside the share tool select ‘Share iCloud link’. Your video will be uploaded to your iCloud account and a link will be copied to your system clipboard. You can now paste that URL into an email or a support ticket.

Sometimes a video is simply overkill for what you need to describe, and you just need to send a picture of the screen.
On iOS press the power and volume up buttons at the same time. This will capture an image of what is on your screen. On Android, use power and volume down at the same time.
