Reset Password/PIN

You are here:

If any user has forgotten their password, and there is no upper level person locally available to update it for them, then the Location operator or Collector can update a user’s PIN via the TrueRoute web portal.

On web.trueroute.com go to Locations > Location name > POS > POS Users, and click the Edit icon in the upper right of the screen. The list of users will change into the editing mode. Enter in a new pin for the desired user and confirm as well. Once you press the Save icon in the upper right, the new PIN will be applied to the account.

Hard Reset

In the extreme scenario where no one can access the TrueRoute portal, and no one can remember their PIN, there is one major action that someone can do. On the login screen there is a small padlock symbol in the upper right, in grey. If this is tapped four times, then the user will be prompted with “Are you sure you want to reset all PINs?

If the user chooses Yes, then ALL Pins will be removed, and the user will need to create a new Admin account on the spot. Once created the user can go through and reset pins on the other accounts. This will not affect any transaction data, other location settings or System settings. However, keep in mind: This is for extreme cases only.
