Player Cards
The TruePoint system allows players to redeem their play session values to a ‘Players Card’. This is a classic credit card sized item with a unique ID string, a magnetic strip with the same ID, and a QR code also containing the same ID.
If a player chooses to, they can opt to have any awards or value placed onto the card for future use. These values do not expire.
Special Note: The same Player Card can be used across different locations, but the value from one location cannot be used in another.
POS Based Redemption
In a location that uses a POS without any on-machine card readers, at the time of cashout the player can request that the value be placed on a card. The cashier will select their session, and tap ‘Redeem’. Once the cashier sees the redemption destination list they need only enter the value to be applied to the card from the session. A player can choose to put all or a portion of their session onto the card.
Once the cashier has the value entered, they will submit. Once they confirm the request they will be prompted to swipe the card on the POS itself. If there is trouble reading the magnetic strip there is also the option to scan the QR code instead. Tapping the (only)
Once the card has been recognized by the system the cashier will be prompted to enter the players name and phone number (if the card did not have that information previously entered). If the player refuses teh cashier can continue without those details.
Machines with Card Readers
A location can be configured to require user information or not. If it is required, then the first time use of a card must be done at the cashier. If it is not required, then a brand new card can be used on a machine directly.
If information is not required, then a first-time redemption to a card can be done on the machine. When a player cashes out the screen will activate. The player will be prompted to enter a card or ‘Send to Cashier’.
If a player dips their card into the slot then the card ID is searched in the system. If it is found the value is assigned to the account. If it is not found then the card ID is registered with into the system, and the value applied.
Card History View
On the POS you can navigate to the Player Cards view and see a list of all cards that have been registered with your system. Using the ‘dropdown arrow’ at the right of each entry, you can expand the details. Here you can see the players phone number, and perform some limited actions.
- Move – In case a player has multiple cards and wants to combine their values, you find the card, press Move and you will then be prompted to scan the new card intended to hold the value.
- Lock – in case that there is suspected fraud related to a card, a manager can lock out the card from being recognized by the system. If unlocking is desired afterwards, you can simply tap the same button.
Card Based Login
TruePoint has a feature that allows a user to login to the POS using a Players Card. This allows a user to simply swipe a card on the magnetic reader when the screen is locked, instantly allowing a user to login.
If you go to Menu > Location Settings > Users you will see an icon on the far right of a users entry that looks like a credit card. Tap this and you will be prompted to swipe a card. Once the card is associated with an account, simply swiping will allow that user to login.
Warning – Do not use a card with credits/value applied. That value will no longer be accessible. At all. A card used for login cannot be used for credit/value assignment.
