Redeeming a receipt

When a user scans the QR code from the receipt the screen will change into a ‘processing pattern; to inform them that something is happening behind the scenes. Once processing is complete the user is informed of one of the possible results:

Cashout

The general redemption message: “Your $10.00 is being dispensed now!”

Invalid

When an unknown format is attempted: “This ticket is invalid”

Error

If a receipt is valid, but it is from another location: “Sorry, I do not understand that code”

Out of Service

No mystery here: “Out of Service”

Handpay

If a customer tries to redeem a receipt that is too large to be handled automatically they are informed: “Your $1050.00 award requires an employees assistance”

Short Dispense

In case of a mechanical malfunction (paper jam, broken component, etc) during a redemption, the system needs to inform the customer that an error occurred, and that the machine can no longer continue. The customer is informed that:

“There was a mechanical issue, and only $40.00 of your $65.00 award has been dispensed. Please see a cashier for assistance in claiming your remaining $25.00 using the receipt printing now.”

Receipts

Each time that a cashout event is completed the user will be asked if they want a receipt. They have the option of yes or no. if no response is selected the screen will timeout and revert back to its ready state.

Entering the Settings View

When a user taps the upper left of the home screen three times they are redirected to a login screen. The administrator that initially configured the machine will have provided the credentials.

Toggle the attraction video

If a user taps the very upper right corner of the home screen the looped video will toggle it’s visibility.

Simple Service Functions

If anyone taps the lower right corner fices times, they are presented with a menu that allows some simpel actions to be performed.

  • Power Down – The kiosk is gracefully powered down
  • Reboot – The system is gracefully powered down and restarted.
  • Out of service – The ‘Scan’ button is removed from the screen and an Out of Service notice is displayed until the OOS mode is manually deactivated.
